What size tank should I get?
Here at TankTec, we literally have hundreds of sizes to choose from. We can provide standard sizes, or we can make your tank to measure at no extra cost.
We narrow down your options by looking at the space you have and how much water you would like to store. We can also replace exactly what you already have.
What colours are available?
Aquaplate poly coated steel is available in these standard colours: Woodland Grey, Pale Eucalypt, Paperbark, Monument or galvanised finish. Any other colour can be post-painted for an extra cost. The cost will depend on the size of your tank.
How much water storage will I need?
From our many years of experience, these are our recommendations based on proposed usage:
- 2,000-5,000 litres for small garden use.
- 5,000-10,000 litres for garden, general use and toilet flushing.
- 10,000-20,000 litres for a very small home.
- 40,000-50,000 litres for an average family home.
Do TankTec tanks have a warranty?
Yes. All tanks we build come with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. Aquaplate poly coated steel comes with a 20-year materials warranty.
What is the lead time from when I order?
We book delivery and collection dates to fit your schedule. Giving us more notice increases our ability to meet your deadlines. Typically we have a 4 to 6 week turnaround from order to delivery however this may take longer during peak season. If you need a tank quickly for any reason, let us know. We will always try to help you out.
We make garden beds on Wednesdays, so depending on what colour you require and when you order, we could have them done within a week.

If you are buying a classic round tank, we recommend a base of 7mm bluemetal with a depth of 100mm. Allow 100mm extra around the diameter of your tank. Treated pine sleepers are a common material to make boxing for a tank base.
If you have a slimline tank, we recommend a concrete base of 25MPA, 100mm thick with F62 mesh through the middle of the mix.
We do not recommend sand bases for our tanks unless they are built on site.
